Running Diagnostics
Document Detective includes some built in diagnostics that could help our technical
support team determine the cause of a problem. This is especially true if Document
Detective crashes when processing a document. Use the information below to capture a
diagnostics file to be uploaded using our technical support
contact form.

Diagnostics for Content Controls ToolsUse this procedure if the Flatten Document process fails.After you click the Flatten Document button, select "Flatten Options" and check the "Enable Diagnostics" checkbox as shown in the following screenshots. You can also use the Configure Document Detective option in the Start menu tree to enable diagnostics. You will find it in the Document Detective utilities folder. Select "Flatten Options" for the "View> menu to find the Enable Diagnostics checkbox.

Don't forget to turn of the diagnostics. This file is cummulative, so it can collect a lot of data.

Diagnostics for the Content Browser and Checklist ViewerUse this procedure if the Content Browser or the Checklist Viewer fail to complete a security scan.Start the Content Browser and cancel the keyword selection dialog. Next, select "Options" from the "View" menu. Click the "Custom" tab and then the "Advanced" button. Check the "Enable Diagnostics" box and provide a path for the diagnostics file.

Don't forget to turn of the diagnostics. This file is not cummulative, but it adds a lot of processing time when scanning a file.
